Peter Sugarman
Non-Executive Director
Peter is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer of JRJ Group, a growth-oriented investment firm, providing capital, deep operational expertise and strategic guidance to its portfolio companies. Peter’s thirty-five plus year career with JRJ Group, Lehman Brothers, Rabobank and J.P. Morgan spans the fields of corporate finance, tax, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions structuring, as well as investing in large numbers of early stage companies, many with a technology focus.
Peter holds BA and MA degrees in History and Law from Cambridge University. In addition to his role as director of iProov, he serves as Non-Executive Chairman for Optimum (SME) Finance Ltd, director of Fireaway Inc., and as a director for various other JRJ Group portfolio companies.
Eddie Alleyn
Director
Eddie spent 35 years working for the UK Government, in the FCO, Cabinet Office and MOD. For the last five of those years, until the end of 2016, he was Chair and CEO at HMGCC, leading teams designing, integrating and manufacturing secure systems of various kinds for Government use.
Since leaving Government service, Eddie now has a portfolio of Executive and Advisory roles with a small number of innovative tech and cyber security start-ups and scale-ups in London, including iProov. He sits on the Advisory Board of a large investment fund, with a focus on Defence and Security. He also advises SANS Institute, especially in connection with DCMS’s Cyber Schools Programme. He is a Fellow of the IET, and sits on its Information Technology Policy Panel.
Lou Anne Alexander
Non-Executive Director
Lou Anne spent more than 12 years with Early Warning® (EW), a fintech company owned by seven of the largest U.S. banks, where she led the U.S. launch of the Zelle Network® payment service. She most recently served as EW’s Chief Product Officer, responsible for all identity verification services for new account openings, as well as a bank-sponsored digital identity service.
Lou Anne previously held senior leadership positions with Wells Fargo and its predecessor banks, Wachovia and First Union. She is currently a partner at Open Loop Strategies LLC and serves as a board member and strategic advisor to iProov and several notable software as a service (SaaS) companies.
Kyle Ryland
Non-Executive Director
Kyle Ryland is Managing Partner of Sumeru Equity Partners. He is responsible for delivering the full resources of the firm for investors, portfolio companies and team members. Kyle chairs the firm’s investment committee and leads investments in enterprise technology companies. Prior to founding Sumeru Equity Partners, he co-founded and served as Managing Director of Silver Lake Sumeru. He has over two decades of experience with private equity investments, venture capital, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions in the technology sector. Kyle brings deep experience in strategy and value creation and has served as a director for several public and private companies.
Prior to Silver Lake Sumeru, Kyle was a Partner at Shah Capital Partners, a mid-market technology private equity firm. Before that, Kyle was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers and the head of Global Technology Investment Banking. He began his technology investment and advisory career at Robertson Stephens where he served as an investment banker and as an investment professional in the firm’s venture capital funds.
Angela Sasse FREng
Chief Scientific Advisor
Professor Sasse is the Head of Information Security Research at University College London (UCL), and currently also Director of the GCHQ/EPSRC-funded national Research Institute for the Science of Cyber Security. She started research in usable security in 1996, and has conducted dozens of lab and in-company studies on the cost and benefit of authentication mechanisms such as passwords and biometrics, and carried out two studies for the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Professor Sasse’s team incorporates the Human-Centred Systems Group, an inter-disciplinary research unit she established at UCL to focus on HCI with special emphasis on security. She read psychology in Germany and holds an M.Sc. in Occupational Psychology from Sheffield University, and a PhD in Computer Science (on Users’ Models) from the University of Birmingham. She worked as a Human Factors Specialist for Philips Corporate Industrial Design in 1990 and joined the Department of Computer Science at UCL as a Lecturer in November 1990.
Paul King
Advisor
Paul King spent 27 years at Cisco, most recently as Chief Security Officer, Cisco UK. He has been an influential member of many cyber security industry bodies, including the Internet Security Advisory Group at Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre (EC3), the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI), the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and INTERPOL Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children.
